The system has been developed to enable time measurement in rally competitions.
It basically consists of the automatized records of starting and finishing times for each racer, with suitable equipment in both places.
Those records, which have been detected by infrared sensors placed in the route, are printed in a built - in device.
The start display is an electronic control (red/green light) that shows the racer the remaining time before starting by means of a backward seconds indicator.
At that moment, the exact time (hour, minute, second)
is recorded.
If the contestant has a false start, red sensors would detect it, for the racer to be penalized.
At the FINISH red sensors detect the vehicles going past, sending a signal to a digital clock that prints it.
The time list can be sent to a PC by an output in the clock.
The timing software will process the performed times in
each stage to determine the winner in each category. |
